Energised by the sustained growth and even greater economic potential of a young and growing Africa, AIMS International’s Middle East and Africa regional leadership launched the eyeAfrica project a little over a year ago. eyeAfrica is a platform where we host top-calibre guest speakers share insights on opportunities in Africa, as well as the challenges that businesses face entering the region and operating in it long term.

We were particularly inspired by the establishment of major trade agreements like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) in 2021, as well as sustained high foreign direct investment (FDI) across the continent.

According to the United Nations Conference for Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Africa scored a record $83 billion in FDI in 2021, which was over double what the continent attracted in 2020 when it accounted for 5.2% of all such investment globally.

AfCFTA is, meanwhile, the largest free trade area in the world as measured by population and geographic spread, and second only to the World Trade Organisation as measured by the number of member states. It connects 1.3 billion people across 55 countries with a combined gross domestic product (GDP) valued at $3.4 trillion.

In anticipation of the above, AIMS International’s Middle East and Africa Partners are strategically located in the region through strong physical presence of offices and strategic coverage of key neighboring countries.

AIMS International is primed to help businesses chase growth in Africa

AIMS International supports homegrown and international organisations’ Executive Search, Board Services, and Talent Management needs through our partnership of strategically located offices, in countries that all rank among the biggest economies and largest recipients of FDI inflow in Africa.

In North Africa, we have well-established and experienced partnerships located in Egypt and Morocco. The latter office also supports businesses in francophone West Africa – Côte d’Ivoire in particular. In East Africa, our partners in Nairobi, Kenya, additionally cover Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda in the east and anglophone Nigeria in the west. And in the south, we strongly operate in this region with our longtime Partner AIMS South Africa currently with two offices in Cape town and Johannesburg.

We are also supported by our colleagues in the Gulf and Turkey with our strategically located partners operating from Dubai holding responsibility for the UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, and our partners in Istanbul, Turkey are advantageously located between Europe and Asia.
