Monene started her professional career after completing an Industrial Engineering degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991, gaining business experience in companies such as Eskom, Woolworths, Old Mutual, Standard Chartered Bank and Sanlam. During this time, she held roles that range from Industrial engineer, Line manager, Business analyst, Project manager, Programme manager to Business consultant.
In 2007 she completed a Certificate in Coaching Practice through the University of Stellenbosch Business School and subsequently has formally been Coach, Facilitator and Consultant to business leaders, specialists, middle to senior managers and teams in medium to large organisations (manufacturing, retail, travel, IT, defence, marketing services, NGO, agriculture and financial services industries).
Monene’s experience in facilitation started in 1995 with the facilitation of process improvement initiatives. Shortly thereafter she expanded to project and programme facilitation ranging from project inception, project tracking, and implementation to post-project reviews. Subsequently the facilitation assignments have evolved to include business strategy, leadership and implementation interventions.
As part of her continuous development as Facilitator, Monene completed the Creative Facilitation Toolkit training course in 2011.
She also received her accreditation as mediator by Conflict Dynamics and the Africa Centre for Dispute Settlement at the University of Stellenbosch Business School in 2012.
